This picture was taken before the house was painted and the downspouts still have not been installed. As the house was started late 1913 and finished in 1914, the family gathering may be for Christmas 1913, or just their open house. The original owners were John M. & Mary A.Schirle. John was a carpenter, and the house was at least built for him, as we have found his name on the backs of cabinets. We're not sure if he actually built the house though.
